By accessing an application developed and maintained by the Clinical Research Computing Unit (CRCU), I implicitly agree that I will abide by these usage guidelines, licensing agreements, and applicable federal and state laws governing software use. I understand that any violations will result in disciplinary action that may include termination of account and possible legal action.
Software developed by the CRCU for sponsored projects is the property of the University of Pennsylvania and the sponsoring agency and shall not be duplicated or distributed without the express written consent of the CRCU or the sponsor.
Individuals must use software in accordance with its license agreement. Unless otherwise provided in the respective license (for example: where copies for backup or archival are permitted), any duplication of copyrighted software is a violation of copyright law and can be subject to civil and criminal penalties.
The CRCU does not condone illegal copying of software under any circumstances. Any individual who makes, uses, or otherwise acquires unauthorized software will be appropriately disciplined and will be subject to the penalties of applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Individuals shall use the computing environment with the appropriate respect shown to the principles of open expression and with respect for the rights and property of others, including intellectual property. Individuals must maintain truthfulness and honesty in personal and computer identification. Users shall not share user account information with any other personnel.
Users shall protect account information, such as passwords, from unauthorized disclosure. Users shall immediately report all known or suspected breaches of login account confidentiality. Restricted access programs must not be left unattended and available when not in use. Restricted access programs must be closed or locked appropriately prior to leaving the area. Users shall not read, copy, execute, or modify any file in the domain of the CRCU without permission being intentionally given to the user by the file owner.
